Minutes from last meeting

Rob, Rob C, Cam, Jim, Blair
Met at Bean Scene and it was a positive meeting.
Blair – Discussed his background and his eagerness to help.
Rob – Reported that internet station was trucking and new content making its way onto air. Training sessions available. Looking at setting up some activities for back to school.
Rob C – Reported on Industry Canada. Having trouble getting response from recommended Engineering firm. Initial quote on engineering report $8000. Have looked at two locations for transmitter: one in the Mission with commercial groups, one in the Westside with CBC. Jim mentioned the Mission location may have better coverage. Cam mentioned site in Winfield where current not-for-profit society is rebroadcasting CBC 2 signal as other possible option. Jim advised contacting Industry Canada and verifying which FM signal is open for licensing in the Central Okanagan.
Cam – Brought draft of Constitution for Society and went over it. Need 5 committed individuals to step forward to run Society. Cam, Jim and Rob indicated they would volunteer. Amanda put forward as student rep (if she wants it!). Final Faculty rep was discussed but no names sprung to mind.
Discussed support letters again. We all agreed again that this is really important. Still need list of groups to contact. Develop letter head important. Contact phone number difficult as we don’t have one.
Meeting with President still put forward. How and when an issue.
